A TRIBUTE TO PRECEPTORS
LEARNING ABOUT PRECEPTING

In nurturing a sense of clinical accountability, nurse preceptors create a unique set of teaching skills and expertise that are beyond clinical expertise. With respect to the genuine knowledge that preceptors acquire, this section is divided into three modules including Knowledge, Experience and Wisdom. These modules are divided into Teaching in Practice, The Preceptorship Framework and The Professional Practice of preceptors.

                                          

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The "Learn" section offers preceptors the opportunity to work through three modules: 

  1. The knowledge that assists preceptors to teach in practice.
  2. The thoughts and experiences described by preceptors.
  3. The wisdom acquired as preceptors work through everyday teaching situations. 
  4. In critically reflecting, articulating knowledge and revealing wisdom,
    awareness evolves through discovering, learning and engaging.
